Following the award of a £300,000 grant as part of round 4 of the Government's Community Ownership Fund, Glamis Hall for All is delighted to announce it has awarded a contract to MP Drywall Ltd. for the following:
Carrying out internal works to repurpose old changing, corridor and toilet areas to create additional lettable community space, provide amenities and improve building access and safety. Tender reference COF 135.
Specifically:
1. Repurposing 2 unused former sports changing rooms and a corridor into a multi-purpose, accessible, lettable community space and improve safe internal access to the building’s new flat roof and solar array
2. Upgrading the former player’s toilet facilities to become accessible toilets for use in this improved rental suite
3. Reconfiguring a staff changing/shower/locker room and toilet into an accessible storage space
Work is scheduled to commence on the 30th June 2025 and is expected to take approximately 20 weeks. Glamis Hall will remain open during the works but some groups and activities may be affected from time to time. Disruptions will of course be kept to a minimum. The works are internal and there will be no access to users of Glamis Hall or the public during the work.
The Family Festival will take place as usual on the last Saturday of July (26th) between 10am and 3pm.
The new lettable space (yet to be named) will have its own entrance and will be separate from other areas of the building. It will be approximately 8m x 12m and be fitted with kitchen cupboards and a sink with hot and cold running water. It will be suitable for use as a learning space, a meeting room or party venue. It will be available for hires from Monday 1st December 2025.
